THE SAAS MODEL – KEEP IT RUNNING

Yes, it’s true. I’ve left the challenging world of Health Care Clinical Applications for the heady frontiers of SAAS, applications delivered right to your browser without muss, fuss or your own infrastructure. It’s a whole ‘nother world, and I’ll pass on what I’ve learned so far.

New Orleans Revisited

I had an opportunity this week to visit the post-Katrina Crescent City.

I’m in New Orleans for the HIMSS show – the annual Healthcare It and Systems show. This show is getting bigger and bigger, reflecting the nation’s desire to fix Healthcare with technology. The vendor booths have gotten huge, looking like PC-era COMDEX. But I’m told that it is still only an 8 billion dollar healthcare systems market, and it is hard to see how these hundreds of companies are going to make any money.

Swinging the Scope Axe in Iraq

Regular readers know that the Scope Axe is one of my favorite Project Management tools. The Scope Axe is that tool that the PM uses to perform a radical scope reduction on a project. That is in danger of failure.
